My friend Allie has been raving about Pilates for months now, and I’d never tried it before. Since I’m working on trying new workouts this year, but I don’t have any Pilates gear, I found a pilates workout that doesn’t require any equipment – Yoga Pilates Fusion Flow. Granted, maybe a full hour workout might have been a wee bit too much for my first time. I tried it late yesterday afternoon, and today, right on schedule, the soreness is setting in. My abs, my obliques, and my back are all soooooore!
I’m not enough of an expert to tell you which parts were Pilates and which parts were Yoga, other than that some of the poses were obviously yoga, like crow or warrior stances. I can tell you that my core has never been so sore from a Yoga workout before!
This evening I made okra, because I loves me some okra, to go with my portion-controlled dinner entree. I have to fit into a slinky dress this weekend. Yes, I should have thought of that sooner. In fact I did – that’s why I’ve been blitzing on and off for the last several months, instead of giving up and gaining a bunch of weight. Not specifically for this party, but because I like my body in the shape it’s currently in and no bigger.
