My back has been feeling much better over the last few days. I’ve been applying these patches at night and they make a huge difference. I haven’t had to take any flexeril or vicodin for several days now – I think last Wednesday was the last time, which makes me very happy.
Saturday morning I went for a run (which didn’t hurt my back – hooray!) before heading out for my day’s adventure, and ended last night with food poisoning from what I think was the cioppino I ate at a restaurant. Really, really awful food poisoning, so today I’ve been laying in bed trying hard to feel better so I can work tomorrow. Normally I’d take a day off after these last 24 hours, but my company has organized a training course for my team for Monday and Tuesday and I tend to feel that if they’ve gone to the effort to set it up and provide it to me for free, I’m not going to miss it if humanly possible.
I’m getting to the age where it seems like every time I get one physical thing sorted out, another one comes along to screw up my exercise schedule. I see people older than me happily tootling along without any ailments and it feels so unfair. And then I remember – life isn’t fair, suck it up and get on with it.
