What I did today to keep it off

  • Kept records
  • Brought my lunch to work and ate it
  • Hot tea

Hot tea? Yes. After lunch I was casting about for something to munch on, because even though I’d already eaten my lunch my stomach was pretending it was hungry. Sometimes it does that, I don’t know if other people have the same feeling but I couldn’t shake the sensation, until I remembered the Hot Drink Trick.

Basically, I realized a few years back that when I shouldn’t be hungry but I’m getting those signals, a hot beverage will often settle things down and fill my stomach. So I made myself a cup of herbal tea, and then another, and it completely did the trick. I was able to focus on work and I didn’t hear anything from my appetite for another 2 hours.

In other news, it’s bloody hot here. Even now, it’s 6pm and it’s still in the 90s. Too hot to exercise outside. But, I counted up, and today is my off day. I ran yesterday, in fact I’ve exercised every day for the last week, so I can afford to rest this evening.
